G is for Golem
Entry G of my alphabetical series of small puzzle games, Aha Alphabet.
A golem construction conundrum. Quite challenging, requiring thinking ahead (maybe on paper if you find visualising hard), although it should be deducible.
Controls:
- Z is undo
- R is restart
- WASD or arrow keys for movement
- ESC exits to the menu
- M is mute

The level design here just astounds me. One of the most incredible single-screen sokobans I've ever played. The way every single piece is so carefully placed to make every step of the solve it's own little "aha!" moment is done so well. Great work!
absolutely incredible
i became the golem but cant make another golem
I know what to do, but doing it is very hard.
also, I would love a checkpoint
omg i love the twist. it went from a kinda boring puzzle to an amazing one!
Very cool puzzle, I can assure you it is intuitive enough to be beaten without using the hints
As always - seems impossible but then.. it's like Metamorphosis all over again.. I half-figured it out myself but needed hint 11 to confirm suspicions/deductions and maintain enthusiasm.. and as always, my mind is boggled at how anyone can come up with this complexity of puzzle.. I came up with 3 different ways to build the Golem alone.. Awesome puzzle Mt Toombler. Thanks

To come up with puzzles of this complexity imo it’s a lot of trial and error, going back and forth between different constraints until all the deductions you want to include work at the same time. Often adding something will break something else and you either tweak things until it works or you give up on the addition.
Oh wow. How?
that was fun!
This was a lovely game, and this is the first of your alphabet series I played. I can't wait to see what else you have in store
I like how the thumbnail contains several blocks that are not actually in the puzzle.
so many tantalizing possibilities...
I've been thinking about wall-stuckness recently, and the situation near the top-left golem is my favorite example of this. especially with how it is modular, I love it.
finally!
also, stop giving people hints, the fun will last longer if more thinking is required.
at most, only give hints about how to discover/notice various mechanics like "notice how you turn a different color when over the target" or "try pressing x when near a wall". ideally the gameplay itself should act as a hint (the game I found did the worse at this was that centipede game from the confounding calendar)
a fine puzzle game, until suddenly it became an excellent puzzle game – electrifying! still trying to work it out…
“to take time to think about a difficult problem is a beautiful thing”
This game wasn't as challenging as i had feared, but still really fun! The twist was also really cool!
I felt extremely competent and then, in an expert puzzle-design rug-pull, extremely daunted. Pen and paper await.
Excited to see someone join Dom Camus in exploring the puzzle space of moving blocks, golems and the blocks that move them.
This would be an excellent confounding calendar day-absorber
Your Alphabet series is outstanding!
I will need a proper sit-down for this one :)
